Lichfield & District Citizens Advice Bureau ![]() Welfare Benefit & Debt Advice Outreach MILL LANE LINK, OFF VICTORIA DRIVE FAZELEY, TAMWORTH B78 3QD Lichfield & District Citizens Advice Bureau Credit Crunch Help at Hand Advice and help on the credit crunch as well as many other issues is now easily at hand for local people in the Fazeley and Mile Oak area. Lichfield Citizens Advice Bureau has established advice sessions twice a month under an agreement with Lichfield District Council. The surgeries which are held at the Mill Lane Link, previously the ‘rent office’ at Fazeley, offer free advice and also access to representatives from Homezone. John Thompson, the chairman of Lichfield CAB says that advisers can be enormously helpful as things get tougher, We pride ourselves with the quality of advice offered at the CAB but understand how difficult it is sometimes to ask for help. The economic climate is difficult and the golden rule is to deal with your situation and know your rights before things become too difficult. We can help people with a wide range of issues, financial or otherwise, and find that talking things through with someone who has experience of dealing with difficult situations is, in itself, of great help. Our advice to clients is free, confidential, impartial and independent. We are keen to encourage Lichfield District residents in the Fazeley area to take advantage of the outreach service." Matthew Ellis, Lichfield Rural East’s member of the County Council, says he has had a significant increase recently in the number of people contacting him with difficulties because of spiralling costs,“People are finding it tough, particularly in keeping up with ever more expensive gas and electricity prices. My experience is that utility companies have not eased their approach and are still coming down hard on people who struggle with payments. That's disappointing and it is important that people have support and good advice early on. The CAB have experience in dealing with many of the national bodies and their expertise can be invaluable. The CAB presence in Fazeley is good news and local people should use it if they are worried about their circumstances”, he said. Advice sessions between 10am and 12pm are available twice a month at the link office in Mill Lane, Fazeley and Homezone officers will also be there on 10th November and 8th December.
