Help people learn about computers

Do you know how to work computers?
Do you want to help other people?

Silver Surfers is a community computing project running at St Barnabas Church in Manor Road Mile Oak. It is called Silver Surfers because it was originally set up to help older people get some of the benefits that are found with email and the internet.

For the older person these include email for contact with friends and family and use of the internet for general interest browsing or things such as shopping from home and making appointments with GPs and other important services.

If you want to help with the Silver Surfers group please contact John on 01827 706751

Maybe you feel you would like to set up and run another computing group using the facilities in the Roberts Room at St Barnabas? Well, if this is the case contact John and tell him about your idea. It may also be that you have a friend who would like to help on a one to one basis. Sometimes people prefer to learn this way. Perhaps you feel that you could help them by using the facilities in the Roberts Room at St Barnabas?

Contact John and ask the question. All genuine requests to develop the use of this community facility will be seriously considered.

If you would rather make initial contact by email you can reach John by email... here
